My brother has two old photos of a small steamer loading gypsum in Cheverie. The ship is the Ironwood. A neighbour remembers the ship, as he and other small boys played on it as it was being loaded. He thinks maybe 1948. He remembers a gun or gun mount on the back of the ship. It looks to be only 2 holds, and of Great Lakes design.
Does anyone know anything about this vessel or can you tell me where to took for information on it.
