Does anyone know where I could get information about cordwainers in England during the 1840s. It says there was an organization called the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers and historically most lived and worked in the Cordwainer ward of the city of London. The article I read did not give time periods for the organization though. I have a father and son, William and George Godward, who were both listed as cordwainers during the mid 1800's. I like to see if I could find more info about them through the records. George's son's birth certificate showed he resided at No. 22 King Edwards palace but I have been unable to find this location. The birth was registered in St. Thomas, Birmingham, County of Warwick. I'd also be interested in information about the King
Edwards palace location.
