Noticed in your Ancestry that you have listed the parents of Joseh Predmore (Daniel and Sarah) as also being the parents of James McCain . James' daughter Sarah Ann, married Joseph's son Roy.

Didn't know if this was a mistake or if there was an adoption or foster situation.
Searching for information on my grandfather,

My paternal grandfather worked for the St Paul railroad and was reportedly killed by falling off a freight car sometime during 1883/4. Born in Sweden, his name was John Swanson (or Svenson) and he was married to Lena Peterson. Unfortunately my information about him is very "sketchy" as he died shortly before my father, Oscar John Swanson, was born.

If anyone knows of records I could research, I would appreciate hearing from them..

My grandfather, Charley John Johnson, was a blacksmith for the railroad. He lived in Crookston, MN much of the time. Was there a railroad line through there or should I be looking somewhere else? He was born in PA in 1883, I have a picture of him at work around 1913, on a train engine. I can only see a number 54 on the engine. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Charles (Carl) Wittkop died in railroad accident

Family lore says that my great-grandfather, Carl Wittkop, died in a railroad accident in abt. 1905.
He was employed as a railroad fireman at the time.
He lived with his wife & 3 sons in St. Paul, MN at the time of his death.
MN Board of Health has no record of his death, so I'm seeking other ways to research his life & death.
Can someone point me in a new direction to continue my search?
Attached is a photo of him in his railroad fireman uniform. Perhaps the uniform will give a clue to which railroad he worked for.
Thanks, in advance, for any help!
Lynn Gorski
LynnGorski@comcast.net
