My relatives landed in Boston in 1857. From there they traveled
to New Boston, near Rock Island, Illinois. How did you get from Boston toNew Boston in 1857? Was train travel that common? Does anyone have any suggestions how I could find out if they took the train, how much it cost, would route and railroad they would have taken, etc.?
