OK, sometime, somewhere I read a bit of information that I never thought would apply to my research. I have not been able to re-locate the source for this...yet.The main point was that when a body was shipped a distance from the place of death to place of burial, this usually occurred by rail, and the majority of trains in the NE US went through New York City. And, quite a bit of [possibly] genealogically important information was recorded pertaining to the corpses in their coffins. Does anyone know exactly what these records would be called? Would they have been kept by the city or the RR? Thanks!
