Railroad Strike: 1896 - 1900???

I am looking for information on which railroads went from Duluth East and were affected by a strike in those years. My g.g.grandmother is said to have been stranded on the tracks for a week or so with all her children and the red cross went and brought them food....could any of this be right? and if so...what railway could it have been?
