I am searching for information on the seafaring career of Captain William Vicary of Philadelphia. His last voyage as a merchant sea captain was to the east Indies and ended in 1806. The ship was apparently named the Liberty.
There is also a mention of a Captain Vicary (Vickery) carrying the Jay Treaty back to the U.S. in a brig named "The Thomas" in 1794 or 1795. Any ideas on how I can research this?
