My Grandfather had the following occupations later in life according to statutory records:
“Shipyard Foreman Iron Builder” in 1925
“Shipyard Iron Manager” in 1944 when he died (he retired in 1938 or earlier)
He worked in the shipyards on the Clyde in Scotland.
Can anyone provide information as to what an Iron Builder and Iron Manager were?
