Looking for info about any of these surnames who were workers for the railroads in WISCONSIN and Illinois. My g-uncle, Mike Fitzgerald born Irl a1856 Eau Claire1880 census was killed [family said blown up] in a railroad accident. I think that in 1880 his wife had just died since his sister-in-law was caring for his children at his home in Ellsworth, Wisc. His brother Pat b1859 disappeared after the Eau Claire 1880 census. The railroad evidently had transferred him elsewhere. The other surnames in subjects, married the Fitzgerald girls and went????. Uncle Jack & Miles Fitz... went to Chicago, my grandfather, John Fitz... b1878 wisc, the engineer of the 400 of the C&NW Ry, moved to Mpls with his wife, Ivah, and children, Lamoid, Geraldine, and Marjorie who married Leo McConnell. Although, my g-grandparents [Thomas b1830 Irl & Mary b1835 Irl] were on the Eau Claire 1880 census, I can't locate them after that. All the names in 'subject' were life-long railroaders except Lamoid Fitzgerald. Any Information you have would be greatly appreciated .
