Texas Ranger Camp at Big Spring 1880

I am trying to find out exactly where the Ranger Camp of Captain Ira Long and his group of about 24 Rangers was in or near Big Spring in 1880. Have had conflicting information so far...same say at the spring South end of town and other say along where the RR tracks now are.
