We are trying to verify the CSA status of a man in our old rural cemetery and we have just found old newspaper references to him stating he was "CSA Vet, Lt. Texas Rangers"
I have received from the TX Archives a record that shows possibily him as joining Walkers Rangers in Corpus Cristi 22 Nov 1859 to fight in Cortinas War. We need more to justify getting him a VA CSA grave marker as he has no marker. We show him as being born LA 1838/39 and dying in Santa Rosa in 1903. Middle name might be Hazel..
Any help appreciated.
