Hi Richard
Just came across your query regarding your relation Thomas Foinett a member of the Metropolitan Police Force. I found the following information, which seems to tie in with your dates, and I hope that you find it useful.
21/04/1856 Thomas Foinett joined the Police Force in the Westminster Division as a Police Constable.
06/04/1867 He went to the Soho Division to Reclassify (Promotion to a high grade within current rank) as a Police Sergeant.
09/06/1886 He joined the Harrow Road Division as Superintendent and at some point prior to his retirement he went to the Kensington Division.
26/11/1887 He was pensioned off from the Kensington Division.
His Warrant Number was 34642.
