It has been past down through family stories that he was a US Marshal at one time and then a town marshal of Holdenville, Creek Nation, Indian Territory. He passed on in Holdenville June 07, 1904. Cal Polk in early years was in a posse that captured Billy the Kid in Stinking Springs, New Mexico
