Also - I originally thought that the vilon was made in 1921. When I read your email, I further inspected the label and sure enough it was FECIT ANNO 1927. The "7" was slightly faded, however, it was clearly a 7. He must have made this violin during in his early years in Hammond - as you indicated he opened his shop in 1926.
