Hi everyone,
I'm new here so please bear with me.
Francois Pique is my Great Great Great Great Great (phew!!) Grandfather. It seems that he was quite an influential violin maker in France in the late 1700's. He started at Mirecourt and then moved to Paris, he worked closely with Lupot and was reputed to be the second finest violin maker of that period. Despite all this I can find very little indepth information about him. I would love to know more about his family history as well as his work. I've found pictures of his violins on the web, but not much else. Are there any good reference books on French violin makers of this period, or articles I could access? Are there any other relatives looking for the same information?
It would be great to hear from anyone that could help me.
Thankyou all for your time,
Lisa Carter
