This message is for David and Jane- my name is Kim, and my mom was also married to Phil Kappler (Kapplan). I did meet him about 20 years ago, but failed to keep a relationship with him for my own personal reasons. I have always known that I had two half brothers and one half sister. One brother is older (Jane, I'm assuming this is your son-but not sure) and the other son is younger (David, I'm pretty sure that must be you). I have thought about how and where to start looking for you, but had no idea what your name was, your mothers name, etc. I have had no luck in connecting with my half sister, as I found out that Phil did not reveal any of his past marriages to her mother. I'm not sure if he ever did...
I am aware that Phil died in 2008- I found out a few days ago, and feel stronger than ever that I would like to get in touch with my half brothers and sister.
It was by pure coincidence that I came upon this thread and I could hardly believe it!
If either of you would like to contact me, you can email me at kkaplan531@att.net
I really hope to hear from you...
Thanks!
Kim
