Shirley, believe your George Washington Carlisle born 1836 may have been the son of George Washington Carlisle, born about 1812, and his wife, Elizabeth LNU. I have this family on the 1840 and 1850 census in Jasper County, Georgia. My ggrandmother was Edna Carlisle Craddock, daughter of G.W. and Elizabeth, born in Georgia, died in Elmore County, AL.
