Thanks for sharing your info. I actually have been able to find out some further info on my family since I last posted. My George William Maurer's parents were John and Catharine (Dahis or Deres) Maurer from Baden Germany. They either divorced or John died shortly after coming to US. They had 4 children, the first in Germany, the other 3 in Columbus, Ohio. Catharine remarried to Earnest Miller and listed her children under his last name for the 1900 and 1910 census. Thats why I could not find them. I just wish I new what happened to John. I did find a John Maurer in Columbus around the right age but do not know if its the same person. In 1930 that John was married to a Barbara if I remember correctly. Happy hunting!
