Neither Elijah or Nehemiah Monroe were found during our search of the DAR Patriot Index. This does not mean they did not serve in some capacity during the Revolutionary War. It simply means no one to date has joined the DAR using his Revolutionary War Service for membership verification.
If you are interested in DAR membership, each chapter has members who will assist you in connecting to your Revolutionary Patriot. If you would like more information about joining DAR, please let me know.
I did find the following information:
Birth: MA Circa 1760
Death: VT p 1790
Patriot Pensioned: No Widow Pensioned: No
Children Pensioned: No Heirs Pensioned: No
Spouse: (1) X
He might be a son of Elijah, although he is not in CT.
Since someone has established membership in the NSDAR through him, you may obtain a copy of the DAR application by sending a check for $10.00 payable to Treasurer General NSDAR. Provide the patriot information and if you know the child of the Patriot through whom descent is claimed, provide that also. Mail the check along with the information on the Patriot to: Record Copy Department; Registrar General NSDAR; Administration Building; 1776 D Street NW; Washington, DC 20006-5303. Requests for record copies may take four to six weeks as they are very busy.
Hope this helps and if we can help you again, please feel free to contact us.
Best regards, Jan
