I'm searching for info on Edward Williams, too. This Edward Williams was a drummer and was at Battle of Savannah under Gen Samuel Elbert and Gen. Robert Howe. He served with John Mason, because I have found where he served as a witness on his petition for pension. Edward Williams settled in Rabun Co., GA and is listed as a pensioner there. He lived in Pendleton, SC in 1790, but he was on 1830 and 1840 census in Rabun Co., GA. He was at the Battle of Brandywine and the Battle of Princeton and at Valley Forge. Family lore is that he was originally from England and possibly changed his name from James "Jimmy" Cox to Edward Williams to fight for the colonies. Please help. I would like to establish him as a patriot and apply to D.A.R. on his service. He may have been GA Militia.
