I have a Pelina (Saline)Butcher born in 1822. She was the daughter of George Jefferson Butcher (11 Dec 1775 - 17 Feb 1867) and Mary Argobrite (21 May 1780 - 15 Jul 1845). She married Preston Dawson April 30, 1840.
However, my records show two daughters Kate born 1859 and Dora born 1864. I would guess that may infromation has Dora with the wrong name

Hi all,
I am very interested in the families of Sarah Adaline Sommerville and Lewis Alexander Law of Harrison Co WVA. They are my great grandparents.
They had a farm on Two Lick creek, Harrison Co. Beyond that I am floundering.
Their son, was my grandfather, Argil Guy Law, who grew up on that farm.
I would appreciate any information, stories, pictures, or any other help you may have. My dad has passed, and he was an only child, so I have no one to ask, except any unknown friends or relatives out there.
My wish is to visit Good Hope this summer or fall to enjoy the countryside and search for my ancestors.

Thanks so much for your help,

Karen Elizabeth Law Cochran

Yes, that is the right Moore Line. My father was Arthur Jackson Moore, son of Lewis Russell Moore. My father was named for Lewis' brother, Andrew Jackson. My brother was also named Arthur Jackson.

This is the first time, I ever heard of Samuel Moore's (1730) wife's name spelled with a "W" instead of "R". That may be why I have been unable to find her parentage.

We are of the same generation,my Great-Grandfather was Lewis Russel.

I have not used Genealogy.com for several years, as I have been doing research at Hacher's Creek. It is about 2 hours from where I live and they have a great deal of material on families who settled in that area of WV. Both sides of my family came through this area.

Thanks for the information. If I can be of help please let me know.
I'm from the same family tree and found a website that someone posted that will answer a lot of your questions. You need to go to genealogy.com and then to the familytreemaker. Or you can type in your search engine "Samuel and Deborah Poling". It should pull up the website. Hope this helps you but if it doesn't work let me know and I can look up the info for you.

I am from the same line of the Moore family as you are. My Great-Grandfather was Andrew Jackson Moore. I just found a website that lists the family line back to Daniel Moore with all of the offspring. However, it lists Elizabeth's last name as being spelled as Wright. They had 7 children. One of them is your line and one is mine. I typed into the search engine "Isaac and Bethiah Wells Moore" and the website popped up. It is from Geneaolgy.com and is a familytreemaker someone posted. I hope this helps you in your research.

Sara and most of her children were buried in Grove Cemetery in New Brighton PA. They were buried in the public part of the cemetery which is now a hillside that is caving in. There are no markers as to where their exact tombstone is, and Ive spent much time scowering the hillside. If you need any info about them, let me know.

Butchersville Cemetery is at the junction of Gee Lick Road and the road that goes north from Weston on the west bank of the Monangahela River. It lies between the road and the river. The community is called Butchersville. When I visited in the 1960s/1970s, the caretaker lived near the cemetery. The family of Elijah Flesher lived adjacent to the cemetery and knew the caretaker. Elijah's chilcren might now be grandparents. Hope this helps.

We are looking for Johnston Clark/Johnson Clark who married Jemima (Stackhouse???). They had first child, first son Joshua Clark who married Rachel Sapp. Joshua and Rachel moved to Ohio. Johnston and Jemima divorced. They were living in Harrison Co., W.Va. at the time. Johnston/Johnson had married (another marriage, but not yet divorced) to Elizabeth Harris in Butler Co, Ohio. Jemima learned of his "meanderings" and divorced him in Franklin Co., Indiana Courthouse. Johnston and Elizabeth went west with the Mormons to Nauvoo, Ill. where they are now buried. We want to know if Jemima was a Stackhouse, and any other information anyone might have about Johnston Clark. Thank you. Marian (Hussey) Howard, descendant of Johnston and Jemima.
Many thanks for your research on Joshua Clark and Rachel Sapp. They are my gr. gr. gr. grandparents on my father's mother's side. Her name was Pearl Clark. Her father was Alfred Clark, an identical twin. He lived in Clarksville, Ohio, Clinton Co. He married Johanna Zierow, whose parents came from Schwerin, N.Germany. Alfred's twin brother's name was Albert Clark. We (my three siblings and I) would greatly appreciate receiving any information you can add to the mystery of what happened to the first wife of Johnston/Johnson Clark (father of Joshua, and that wife was Joshua's mother. We think she may have been Jemima Stackhouse, but we cannot substantiate that.
