In the 1807 Militia List for th parish of Farr there is a Robert Mackay at Rhifale, Strathnaver. He is recorded as a labourer aged under 30. Also at Rhifale is an Angus Mackay, tenant and a James Mackay, labourer. All were aged under 30 so could be brothers.
The list of those men considered able to carry Arms in the parish of Farr from the Age of 16 to 60 in 1745 shows only one Mackay at Riphail - Donald.
