My Grandmother Pearl Robbins was a member of the WRC for more than 25 years. I have her 25 year pin and her presedent pin. The presential pin is on a blue ribbon and it has her name and 1961 on it.

How ever I also have a pin that looks like a shield with 2 crossed flags that says WPC. I have not been able to find out what that organization is/was.
I hope you still monitor this site. My great grandmother was a past president of WRC. This is written on her headstone. She died in 1915, so it was prior to that year. Do you know where I can find a list of past presidents and the dates they served. My great grandfather served in the 21 Ind Inf/First Reg Heavy Artillery "Jackass Regiment", from 1861 in Indianapolis to 1866 at Baton Rouge.

Question about Jamestowne Society

Are they as helpful as the Mayflower Society when it comes to proving your line? I love how the Mayflower Society will look at what you tell them and then report back that they have your line proven up to a certain point already. Then you have to provide proof for the rest. Will the Jamestowne Society do that as well?

Thanks for any input!

Supreme Royal Circle Of Friends Of The World RCF 09
Willing Worker
The Supreme Royal Circle of Friends of the World was founded in 1909
in Forest City Arkansas by Dr. Richard A. Williams. This fraternal
organization for black men had as its primary goal promoting the
moral, physical, intellectual, and material welfare of its members.
The success of the Royal Circle was partly due to blacks' mistrust of
government and white owned banks. The Royal Circle of Friends offered
great returns for small investments, with the support of friends,
neighbors, churches, and respected black business leaders.

The fee for joining the Royal Circle, including a medical examination,
was $2.50. Members then paid $1 per quarter, which paid $300 to the
beneficiary after the member's death.

For years to come, in rural black cemeteries loyalty to the Royal
Circle of Friends was indicated by the distinctive headstones that
displayed the organization's symbol of the majestic lion and letters
RCF

Hello,

My husband, David Collier, and I have been researching his genealogy through ancestry.com.

He recently came across a magazine commemorating the 400th anniversary of Jamestown. Inside there's an article about some of the first settlers to Jamestown, including Samuell Collier, a page/secretary to Captain John Smith.

I tried searching ancestry.com to see if I could find any information about Samuell Collier, but ran into a couple dead ends.

We live in Virginia and aren't looking to join the Montana chapter of the Jamestowne Society, but we are looking for help researching Samuell Collier's ancestors to see if my husband could be related to him. So I thought I would ask you or see if you know someone who could help us find out who Samuell Collier's ancestors are, so we can find out if we could be related to him.

Thank you,

Amy & David Collier
amy@louisaonline.com
Louisa, Virginia

Pennfield Parish Military Historical Society formed

Greetings:

Since 26 January 2007 I have been researching the history of the former WWII Air Station at Pennfield Ridge, NB and the former army training grounds (Camp Utopia) at Utopia, NB. Due to an ever-increasing interest in both of these former military bases and our veterans in general, I decided to form the “not-for-profit” society, “Pennfield Parish Military Historical Society Ltd.” to help further preserve the rich military history of this area.

The purpose of this society is to discover, procure, collect, preserve, display and interpret material of historical value associated with the area and to work with other organizations that have similar goals. The Beaver Harbour Community Venture Ltd., located at 18 Quaker Lane in Beaver Harbour, NB, has agreed to provide space in their archives so a display of artifacts, material, etc. can be made available to the public and further raise awareness of the sacrifices of our servicemen and women.

We are well on our way to achieving our goal and anyone with any information on local servicemen and women from Pennfield Parish, information on the former Air Station (No.2 ANS & No.34 OTU) and Camp Utopia, photographs, artifacts or memories to share please feel free to contact Chris Larsen at 260 Main Street E/ Beaver Harbour, NB/ E5H 1K4; (506) 754-2323 or (506) 456-2145; www.pennfieldparishmilitary.com or e-mail pennfieldparish@yahoo.com

Regards,
Chris Larsen
President of "Pennfield Parish Military Historical Society"
I have the following names for Lynch, KY

Ignatz Bacsi Bosh
Gabor Chiki
Joseph Gyuran
James Horvath
Rudolph Hiba
Frank Vadas
Louis Vincze Lorencze

At one point, there were enough Hungarians in Lynch to support two Verhovay Branches - and there must have also been a Hungarian Reformed Church as well. By 1940, there were 50-60 Hungarian families in Lynch. If any of the above names are of interest, let me know.

Florence, I hope this reaches you. In answer to your response concerning JS for Montana - you can go to http://www.jamestowne.org/ link and the lower part of the membership page divides the alphabet in 3 or 4 groups and you can go in and find the list of qualifying names for membership.
I just this morning mailed the minimum required signatures on the petition for a charter for the Great Northwest Company which includes Montana - I never did get any responses from anyone in Montana - are you interested? feel free to contact me at my email address: aschaumburg@olypen.com
Look forward to hearing from you and hope I answered your question.

Does anyone know how (and what it costs) to get records from the United States Daughters of War of 1812? I found my ancestor, James Wells b: 1792 in NH who served from 1812-1815. The index did not indicate if he served in New Hampshire .. could have been New York or Vermont. It only indicated that he was a Captain in the Calvary. Any help would be appreciated.
