After I was pretty sure about our lineage, I contacted the state society to inquire about the procedure. I told them the proposed lineage. They sent me back an application with the lineage filled in. It showed my first seven generations as already proved and what the documentation is. So I don't have to provide any documentation for them.
For some of the ancestors, the sole documentation appears to be "MF ##:##" (a reference to the Mayflower books with the volume and page number).
For some of the ancestors, the documentation is "VR RI (Arnold) ##:##:#" In most cases, there is another source for those items.
So I think those are accepted documentation?
