Classification: Query
Surnames: Warren, Cooke, Taber, Brownell, Tefft, Kenyon, Terry, Barber
We are descended from Richard Warren, John Cooke and Francis Cooke through Sarah Warren (Richard's daughter, John's wife, and Francis' daughter-in-law). We haven't proved it yet, but we are in the process of doing so and we believe we are very close.
The line is an all-female one from Sarah (Warren) Cooke through my paternal grandmother:
- Sarah (Warren) Cooke
- Mary (Cooke) Taber
- Esther (Taber) Brownell
- Esther (Brownell) Tefft
- Ruth (Tefft) Kenyon
- Mary (Kenyon) Terry
- Esther (Terry) Barber
- Altana (Barber) Hoag
- Emma (Hoag) Smith
- Elizabeth (Smith) Coulthard
- my paternal grandmother
So my paternal grandmother should have the same mtDNA as Sarah (Warren) Cooke.
My dad just did a Y-DNA67+mtDNAPlus test on familytreedna.com. We plan to submit the results to the Mayflower DNA project at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/mayflower%20society/
We're looking for others with all female lines going back to Sarah (Warren) Cooke (and therefore Richard Warren, John Cooke, and Francis Cooke). Hoping that you might consider doing the mtDNA test.
