Does anyone know where Dr. Frank DeHass is buried? He lived in Martins Ferry at the end of his life. There is a DeHass St. in MF. I believe the red brick house there may have been his home, called Avondale. Are there pictures or portraits of his home from his time? Can anyone confirm that the house there was his? Any efforts being made to give it historical status?
I grew up on North Zane Hwy, across the alley from that house and have been curious about it all my life.
I read Annie Tanks' article on Rev. DeHass. Given his notability as an author and a diplomat, I am surprised no action has been taken in the community about him, especially considering his book written in the 1800's is still being reprinted and used in colleges today!
