I think you are right about "my" Thomas.I wonder when he died? And where?
I have only had a brief glance at Manchester records,so I suppose that's a good place to start.
I had come across Maltbyonline,and so knew of the existence of the local history in the direction of which you have so kindly pointed me,and have now read the file you emailed.Many thanks-this has certainly made my life a lot easier!
I will certainly let you know if I come across any useful facts about Elizabeth or about her parents.She and John Holden had(as far as I'm aware)5 surviving children,and seem to have many descendants,now spread out across the country,but all going back to Manchester from the 1850s onwards.
