Have had another idea re parentage of Elizabeth-is a Thomas on IGI b.Laughten en le Morthen(not far from Maltby)in 1793,parents James and Sarah.Could these be the 1768-1826 James and Sarah Wells?
If so,would get rid of problems of(in Elizabeth's case!)extremely posthumous children.Of course, this Thomas may have died as a child,in which case we are not farther forward!
A suspicious number of Ridgways appear to have died in 1826:I wonder why? Accident? Epidemic?Homicidal maniac? The trouble is that the lives of ordinary people were barely documented, isn't it? There are always going to be gaps and spaces(not,I hope, ones big enough for homicidal maniacs!)
I am now going to look more closely at your very detailed information, for which I'd really like to thank you.Parish records do tell you what people did,and who came to their weddings and funerals, and so you can sometimes recreate their social setting;inmany cases this is as good as it gets!
