Laura Sophia Chafee Simpson had frequently visited her cousins in Aiken, SC. She was born in Newport, RI January 5, 1838 and died in Aiken at the home of her cousins on April 13th, 1905. She was married to John Simpson of Ohio and was the mother of Amy DeWitt Simpson (1874-1877) and Louise Morgan Simpson (1878-1951), my grandmother. I would like very much to know about the Chafee family in Aiken. Thank you.
