I am looking for John LaRando (Lorondeau, LaRandeau etc.) He was an orphan but I do not know if he rode the train. It has been said he did but other family stories say he came down the Missouri river on a steam boat with other orphans. He was born between 1850 and 1854 and arrived in Rulo Nebraska around 1862 and was taken in by the William Kissel family. He lived in Rulo Nebraska the rest of his life.
He may have traveled from Illinois by boat.
Thanks
