After 20+ years of searching, I contacted the Orphan Train Complex. They sent a copy of 1910 US Census showing my dad at the New York Foundling Hospital. The NYFH could only tell me that my father was left, at 4 weeks, and the mother's name was Mary O'Neil, with a Clinton St. address in Brooklyn. He was left there in April, 1909. I was sent a copy of his file and it gave me a little insight into the family that took him in, but did not adopt him. They used the alternative Indenture Agreement, to raise him in the Catholic faith and see that he would receive at least a high school education.
