Surnames: Chisholm , Marsh
In 1914 My Grandmother Elaine Chisholm (b1907)
along with 2 of her sisters,
Harriet Chisholm(b1909)
Jacqueline Chisholm(b1912) were all 3 brought down by ship from Fort Bragg Calif. where they were born, to San Francisco to the Sisters of Charity Orphanage. They're mother, Abbie B.Chisholm was about 21 yrs old at this time. Abbie's parents and Grandparents had all died and she was an Un- Wed mother with 4 small children and couldn't take care of them anymore.
The 4th child, Lois was still an infant, and unable to go with her older sisters as she was too young for that Orphanage.. The other 3 stayed together.
My Grandmother said They NEVER saw or heard of Lois again!

About 7-8 years went by and Abbie shows back up in their lives again, visiting them at the Orphanage with her new husband EJ Finnerty.
According to my Grand Mother he found out about the girls being Orphans and demanded Abbie take him to see them.
Shortly after that they were living with Abbie and EJ Finnerty.

After 10 years of searching for Lois I still have no clue. What I did learn is that there was a "Infant House" named "LITTLE SISTERS" that was a part of the same Sisters of Charity that took Infants.

What I need help with is finding ANY records of Lois Chisholm born abt 1914 in Fort Bragg Calif possibly going in to the Little Sisters Orphanage.
Or if not, adoption records. She never surfaced again with this family.
All 4 of the girls were never told who their Father was.

I have yet to find records at ALL of ANY births in Fort Bragg Calif. for ANY of my Chisholms. I know Abbie and her siblings were all born there in Fort Bragg as well.
Many Many Block walls~~

Thank you for your time~~
Sincerely
Laurie
