Home of the Homeless (Orphanage)

While surfing Ancestry.com, I found a member of my husband's family listed in an AWT file with the title "Home of the Homeless (Orphanage)". I believe his mother may have died when he was 10-11, but I was caught off guard by the AWT title. Does anyone know where I can find a list of early 1800 orphanages for Connecticut? Truman Judson, if it is true, may have resided there after his mother's death in 1817/1818. Thanks in advance, Tammy
