Thank you for your help. I'm looking into St. Mary's now. I take it the name Fred Zehl is unfamiliar to you as well? I reached out to the alumni association of the Benedictine school, hopefully I'll hear back from them soon. If that pans out, I let folks here know if its a good source of info.
I'm in NJ otherwise I'd just go knock on the doors. For now its all armchair work for me.
If it's not too personal a set of questions, can you describe the living conditions of St. Josephs? How you were treated, fed, clothed? If family visitations took place with any regularity for children who's parents/kin were local?
I understand if you'd rather not answer, I'm just trying to get a good understanding of the place.
