I'm trying to find any information available on the time my father, Santford C. Tolbert, spent at St. Joseph's - or even if it was St. Joseph's. I know that he was sent there by his father when his mother became desperately ill and that he hated it and never discussed it. His time there would have been between 1920 and 1925, I think. He told me about sneaking out at night, catching the slow train that followed the river, fishing with the hobos in a camp downstream, and then catching the train back to the orphanage in time for breakfast. I would appreciate any information or leads anyone can provide. email: email@example.com
. Thank you.
