Thank you for your interest. Charles Vermace is dead. Opal was my great aunt. She has a daughter who is alive and has told me that she remembers nothing about Gertrude. She was born shortly after Gertrude so I know that Gertrude did not stay with the family and was not talked about. Charles Vermace had typed a family genealogy quite a few years ago and I have a copy. In it, he has named Scott as the possible married name of Gertrude. So that's where I'm at. A dead-end unless I can find more information on this person. Any help would be appreciated.
