My brother and I were there for two years, 1959 to 1961.

It was two buildings a civil war hospital where new orphans were kept for 30 days to make sure they did not have any diseases.

That building was just (50feet) of the second building and was torn down years ago.

The second building was a 3 or 4 story gray stone mansion.
Boys and girls were kept separately. Also preschool children were separated.

Lots of the kids ran away all the time and we never knew what happened to them.
Catholic Sisters ran the place. It was truly a terrifying experience ( I was 8 to 8 years old) as they beat the orphans with a belt . Almost every night someone got beaten a lot and there was lots of screaming.

Those nuns ARE NOT IN HEAVEN. I am sure of that.
