I am just beginning to search for the records of my mother-in-law Frances Helen Graham who was born in Chicago in 1925 and placed in an orphanage, she is now deceased. She was born to Catholic parents - her mother died soon after her birth and her father worked as a railroad engineer but could not care for her. I do not know how many orphanages there were in Cook County in 1925 and I am wondering what records are available and how I can access the information? Thanks for any help!
