I just found four of my grandmother's cousins in this orphange on the 1930's census and checking the internet learned that it had closed in 1937...when the youngest of the kids would have been 16...they usually lived there till they turned 18...then went out on their own...the kids were members of the Gross family...children of George and Edith Gross...but they arrived way after your relative...perhaps the County where LaPorte, Indiana is could help or contact the LaPorte reference librarian for help...that is if you haven't already found what you were searching for in the past several years since you posted this.
