If she was in the St. Joseph's (girls) orphanage, then she knew my grandmother. There was also a Protestant orphanage for girls, so she could have been placed there. My grandmother never talked to me about the fact that she was in the orphanage or the reason why.I did locate my great uncle's child who is 90, but she said her dad never mentioned why they were placed in an orphanage. My grandmother was only five or six years old when she was placed there. The genealogy librarian told me that there was someone in BR who did extensive research on the orphanages in BR. The local Sisters have been very helpful.bayoucher
