My grandmother was in the St. Joseph's Orphanage for girls between 1900 and 1918 as evidenced by the census forms for those years. There are no living relatives to explain why she, her sister and her brother were placed there. I have contacted the sisters of St. Joseph in Wichita, Kansas who ran the orphanage. I requested records for my grandmother from that time. These records are called the Medaile Collection. Thus far I have not had success with regard to receiving any information from the sisters. Has anyone had success with regard to obtaining such records? If so, what steps did you take to obtain such records. Any help will be appreciated. Is there any other place I could look for these records? Thanks bayoucher2
