Hi there! what about the 1900 and 1910 census. I am searchin for 10 years or so now for Mary Galvin. This is the family story: she was born in Boston, abandoned, put into the foster care system...worked on a farm until she ran away after being chased by the farmowner's wife with a machete knife. She ended up with a woman named Mrs galvin and took her name, becomin Mary Galvin. Here is the problem with the story. She was Catholic. She married Charles K Lewin at St. Killians Church. at that time she had to prove she was baptized a Catholic and made her first communion to marry in the church. All her legal documents say she is Mary Galvin...marriae and death certificates. the documents also state she was in fact born in Boston. so, how did she get to New Bedford? why did she tell my mother and my uncle that the truth lies with St. Francis Church in Hyannis. How can I view the records from St. Francis in Hyannis? Any help you can give me would certainly be appreciated. I wondered if she ended up in St. Mary's in New Bedford and then on the Cape or the reverse?? thanks in advance. Maureen . my email address is
