In the 1900 census the names of children in St John's Orphan Asylum, Grand Rapids, Michigan are listed. My questions are:
- Are the surnames the actual surnames of the birth mothers or birth fathers
- Would the christian names have beeen given by the birth parents
- Would the birth month and birth year of the orphans, as shown in the census, be the biological birth data.
