Hello Everyone,
I am looking for any residents and / or staff that lived and worked at the RI State Home - O'Roarke Center. There is a project underway to help preserve the history of the people that where there and the place itself. Most of the State Home has now been absorbed into Rhode Island College but there is still a few buildings remaining. Those are the Foreman House, the boiler / laundry room and one of the cottages. It is hoped that the cottage will be turned into a museum / resource center. We must not let the children that went through here be lost. Their story's and history's should be recorded and preserved so that they are never forgotten. Please if anyone either worked there or lived there please post a reply to this board and I will answer as soon as possible.
Thank You.
