Hi, My granny was born in a place call seven pines, south Carolina. I was told that this is not a city but a location that someone would give to locate where they were born. My granny was adopted and went to live in Aberdeen North Carolina. A Presbyterian Minister or Synod adopted her. It was stated that she was born in 1906-7. I don't know what her birth name would have been but she was part black and part white. it seemed that perhaps a campaign was happening where children were being adopted. My ggrand parent didn't have kids or they died young. William Jones Rankin would have been able to travel because he held the office similar to a bishop but a synod in North Carolina. thank you!
