In researching my Bagwell family tree, I learned that my great-grandfather William Bagwell (and his brother Charlie) was raised in an orphanange sometime after his birth in 1875 until 1900. Afterwards he settled in Anderson, South Carolina.

Does any know what orphanages were in operation in South Carolina during this time? I do not know who William's parents were and thought a search of orphan records might yield something if I had a place to start.
