"Indian" Orphanages in Washington Territory

I am looking for information about my gg grandmother, Georgianna Mix. I do not know much about her, but I have tried to put together some information:

According to her death certificate, she was born in Olympia 17 Jun 1871 (I have another date of 21 Nov 1873), her (elderly) granddaughter told me she was a full blooded Indian that was adopted by a white couple. The death certificate lists that her parents names as Couston Mix and Georgianna Christin and that theywere both born France. She marreid my gg grandfather 11 Dec 1888 in Chehalis County, WT.

I have been digging around on all the sites, and I cannot figure out if there was an Indian Orphanage around Olympia in the 1870's. The grandaughter couldn't remember the tribe name and thought it was something like "Linaki" but that isn't close to any of the tribal names.

Anyone have any suggestions? They aren't in the census for 1860 or 1870. I've never done Native American research, and I'm a little lost. I don't have her birth name or tribe, I have two birth dates and a story about her being an Indian princess (which I hear is common).

Thanks for any help - Patrice Shinabarger, Kent, WA
