My grandfather John was born February 11, 1912 (maybe 1910 or 1911 also)to Frank and Margaret (Bartline) Smith in Pella, Shawano, Wisconsin. We have been told that his mother passed away and the children lived with their father until they were taken away from him and placed into St. Joseph's orphanage, his foster mother's name is/was Elizabeth (John)Calaway. I know he has a birth brother named George Smith b. 1889, 2 sisters Flora May b. 11/28/1876 and Mary b. 4/17/1896. We were told his birth records were destroyed in a fire. I am hoping someone can assist me.
