I realised just yesterday that the Ann E that I found wasn't her because of the age...I went through various spellings of her name to find matches and even went page by page in the census'...sofar I found an Ann E Hanna b 1858 but in virginia, which compels me somewhat as there is a notation on one of the census records of one of the davis' coming from Virginia...I'l have to find that again and send it to you...I also saw where one record say's she's from NJ and another from PA..just like you said. And there's many more Ann Hannah's (and variations of that name) than I would have thought possible! As for the nicknames being used, on one of the records James E is listed as Jees...kinda nice. I don't remmeber Ethel, or maybe I do...I wish I could remember more from when I was a kid.
I'm gonna keep looking! I'm determined to find Ann!
