I am having trouble trying to place my husbands birth place, was born in El Paso but they lived (family) in Smelter Town at one time. What county is this located? What would the closes church be and what is the nearest area to the Mexican border? His father was born in the USA, as I understand they went across the border during WW1. Their last name was Olivas, mother's name was Licerio. Where in TX. can I gather This info. for my genealogy history. Does This cause a problem if TX. was part Of Mex. before? Thank you.
